Welcome to Touchline Top 10s! Today we’ll be counting down the Top 10 biggest stadiums in Scotland.

10. Fir Park – Motherwell (13,742)

Home to the steelmen, Fir Park is one of the most interesting stadiums in Scotland. The stadium is composed of 4 stands with one being multi-level with the away fans being placed often in that area. Right next to the away stand consists of the Motherwell fans group the Motherwell BOIS who produced the atmosphere consistently at Fir Park.

9. Tannadice – Dundee United (14,209)

Tannadice has always been one of the most impressive stadiums in Scottish football, mostly for it’s iconic orange and black seats. Tannadice has been home to Dundee United and is often known for it’s close proximity to city rivals Dundee’s stadium Dens Park. However, Dundee United fans will happily claim that Tannadice is bigger than Dens Park.

8. Meadowbank – Edinburgh City (16,000)

One of the most unknown stadiums on this list as it is often used only for athletics, Meadowbank Stadium is home to League 2 team Edinburgh City. The City have proudly called it home but despite having a larger capacity stadium than most other teams in the country, it’s not the biggest in the 4th division.

7. Rugby Park – Kilmarnock (18,128)

Rugby Park in Kilmarnock has been home to the blue and white army for ages and is known for it’s 4G pitch and big stands. Kilmarnock have often found themselves too small for the stadium however when big opposition come to sell out two other stands then Rugby Park can have a lot better atmosphere.

6. Tynecastle – Heart of Midlothian (20,099)

Tynecastle is another one of Scottish football’s most known stadiums as it hails from the capital and has been home to one of the most successful clubs in Scottish Football. Tynecastle is very close to the pitch and can produce a sensational atmosphere on it’s day.

5. Easter Road – Hibernian (20,420)

Much like city rivals Hearts, Hibernian can boast a very similar style stadium however can fit even more than Tynecastle. The Hibees as they are known have called Easter Road a home and proudly present that they have the biggest stadium in the capacity terms.

4. Pittodrie – Aberdeen (22,129)

Home to the Dons, Pittodrie is one of the biggest stadiums in Scottish football. Pittodrie often finds itself half full of it’s 20,000+ capacity however when a big game comes to the north then Pittodrie can rock. Hosting a UEFA Super Cup Final, Pittodrie is a very historic ground in Scottish Football.

3. Ibrox – Rangers (51,082)

Ibrox is home to Rangers, city rivals of Celtic in what is one of the biggest derbies in world football. Ibrox has a simple design and can provide a great atmosphere with the fans making as much noise as is possible when it comes to a big game against Glasgows green side.

2. Hampden Park – Queen’s Park (52,025)

The home of Scottish Football. Hampden Park has hosted almost every major event in Scottish football since it came to be in the late 1800s. Hampden has been home to Queen’s Park for over a hundred years despite being an amateur club playing in the Scottish League 2 (4th tier of Scottish Football) and running on a much lower budget than what they had previously seen. The Hampden Roar is one of the most famous characteristics of the stadium and the stadium is one of the finest in the country in terms of atmosphere and capacity.

1. Celtic Park – Celtic (60,832)

Celtic fans can proudly take the title of having the largest stadium in Scotland with Celtic Park holding a whopping 60,000+ fans. Celtic Park has been the home of Glasgow’s green and white side for years and can boast a UEFA A License among other things.
